Christmas Photos

Christmas at my Sister's house was amazing. Such a lovely mini-weekend. Our parent's and Nanny were there too and it was so nice to see everyone.

printed fabric art :: fabric :: more fabric

charm pack :: more fabric

We chatted, drank wine, ate lovely food, went for a stroll to feed the ducks, played games with Holly, remembered Grandad, chatted some more then came home!

brooch :: little paper-and-string owl :: lavender bags :: TORTOISE

I'm not back at work until Wednesday (hooray!) and plan to spend today doing all the things I put off over Christmas, boring things like buying car tax and going to the bank and paying the bills and then i shall be sewing :-)

felt conker :: decorations

John and I are meeting a few friends in our local pub this evening for a few drinks to see in the New Year. I don't normally overly enjoy New Year's celebrations, I'm not sure why, last year we both stayed home and went to sleep !!

brooch :: gorgeous mushrooms :: princess magnets

Happy New Year everybody.

happy cooking pot :: felt food :: happy cake plate

*photos are some of the gifts I gave, some are linked to the etsy shops I bought them from, some were made by me.

I didn't have a completely handmade Christmas but the handmade gifts I gave were well received and I'm sure that everyone appreciated how much thought and love goes into every creation, weather it were made by me or another craftster.

a temporary return

I have taken a brief break from festivities and have been back at work today and will be there again tomorrow.

John and I spent Christmas day at home (bliss) then visited his family on boxing day and yesterday. As I said I was back to normal today :: packed orders this morning :: day at work :: popped to the post office on the way home.

Tonight I have been a busy bee working on some new ideas and tomorrow John and I are going to my sisters (along with the rest of my family) and I am SO excited :-)

And because posts without photos are a little bit boring I'd thought I'd share the photo voted most interesting on my-flickr

I hope all you monkey fans are all having cracking holidays....

Christmas Countdown

I'm finally ready. I've bought and wrapped all my gifts, put up the tree, visited the post office for the final time, bought clothes for the Christmas party and all that's left is to write cards for neighbours and friends.

It was hard to find room for the tree this year (John seems to think it's because I have too much craft stuff but it's impossible to have too much, right?) but I have managed to squeeze it in next to the fire place. It was on the floor but once I'd started wrapping gifts I had to put it on a table so I had room for all the presents !!

I took about 20 photos and that was the best....this wasn't :: All that's left now is to serve the last minute shoppers at work and then I'll be eating, drinking and being merry :-)

Merry Christmas Everybody !

tricky Christmas Blogging

The problem with blogging at this time of year is that all the things I am sewing are gifts and all the handmade goodies I am buying are also gifts and I want to keep them as surprises so I have nothing to show.... ...except that today I am in two etsy treasurys :-) happy trees (above) and little grey cat...
I have been busy taking photos so you can expect a great show and tell of gifts I made after Christmas !!

heeellloooooo i'mmmm ssslllooowwww

I made a present for my niece ::

A great BIG tortoise cushion

He's a very happy chappy, but he doesn't move very fast !!

Here he is with some cotton reels so you can see how big he is.

He is made from denim and polka dot corduroy with fleece head and feet. He takes A LOT of stuffing but he is so much fun I think I'll be making more :-)

this is the shop in Plymouth that placed an order with me recently. My Mum and Dad went to take a look and Dad took a couple of photos. (because my parents are just the best!)

It's SO great to see my little felt creations in a window display alongside some other lovely creations.

Don't they look happy to be there?

I have a BIG grin plastered over my face right now!!
